Nov 2014 A view inside the bulk coal wagon that was started last month. Construction began with a flat bed wagon and is moving along nicely with the frame starting to take shape.

July 2014 Raking out the fire after the seal failed on the rear mud door on B10.  Frank stands by while Harry is still in the cab pulling out the fire.  We fixed the faulty door seal the following day and we are back up and running again.

May 2014 Pouring additional concrete to finish off the base of the new turntable which Oamaru Steam & Rail recently acquired and plans to restore and install later this year.  OSR member Mike is shown here with his shovel at the ready.

B10 rear axle bearing

B10 rear axle bearing


Apr 2014 Lifting Steam Loco B10 off the rear wheels to investigate an overheating rear axle bearing.  The overheating was due to a blocked oil hole which was easily fixed by unplugging the hole and then modifying it so it won't happen again.

Feb 2014 Today we loaded and assembled the Fowler Steam Loco onto a flat bed wagon for display.  Fundraising is currently under way to restore this locomotive back into full running condition.
